ITV Dancing On Ice’s Holly Willoughby is devastated as dog Bailey chews on her designer shoes

Holly Willoughby’s adorable pet dog Bailey has ruined a pair of This Morning host’s designer heels in a wardrobe malfunction she couldn’t have foreseen. Holly woke up on Friday morning (February 25) to find that her black and white polka dot stilettos had fallen victim to the teething phase of the new Golden Retriever puppy.

The star took to Instagram to share the damage caused by pup Bailey, who joined the Willoughby family in November last year. While Holly was grateful to have Bailey when he helped her with an illness in late 2021, she may have now seen another side to the mushy-eyed pup who has become part of her family and a regular on This Morning.

Holly and her family also have a cat called Bluebell, but the blame fell on Bailey. She captioned the photo, “Bailey…” followed by a blushing/worried face.

Celebrities and fans were quick to comment on their shared devastation over the heel damage, but some were also quick to defend cute pup Bailey — and who can blame them. Model Abbey Clancy commented: ‘Nooooo’ and football legend Alan Shearer simply commented on a worried face, matching the one Holly herself used in the caption.

Some fans thought Holly could style broken heels, one said, “Start a new trend…a distressed stiletto!!” while another added, just put the top away and pretend it still had a white heel…. oh the joys of being a puppy.”

Others shared the TV star’s pain and told their own stories of their pets’ lack of respect for designer accessories, with one commenting: “My lab pup has chewed the handle of Mulberry Bayswater!!! I feel your pain x”

And some were more hands-on, offering cobblers and repair shops for Holly to bring the shoe back to its former glory.

The damage to the stiletto heel was minimal compared to the average pair of slippers that Bailey might have used to get through her teething phase, but the entire heel had its tissue torn away.

It’s certainly not the only wardrobe malfunction that Holly has encountered, having shared the story of an incident in 2016 in which the zipper on her dress split and she was forced to spend the rest of the night wearing his coat.

Holly also often shares her This Morning outfits with her fans and points out where the items are from and how much they cost, although the polka-dot stilettos are unlikely to make an appearance on next week’s show unless that a miracle be granted to him.

Let’s hope Bailey doesn’t make a habit of damaging Holly’s line of designer shoes.
