Jimmy Jazz has hit spots in Harlem, Brooklyn and the Bronx to bless those in need and its residents could not have been more grateful for their free Christmas presents. From the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in the BX where Jimmy Jazz donated 200 pairs of Nikes to John B. Russwurm Elementary School where 300 kids were kicked and Adidas toys, the gift left a thousand New -Yorkis feeling the Christmas spirit at a time when it was really needed.
“When people see members of their community giving back, it makes them pay one day for the next. It shows that the Harlem community takes care of each other. Father Christmas and I thank Jimmy Jazz and Adidas. said Kevin, Founder of Take Care Of Harlem, “Partnerships like this are very important because it shows that others care.”
Indeed. In total, Jimmy Jazz donated over 1,000 pairs of sneakers across New York City during their three days on the job and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. Jimmy Jazz even partnered with 11 designers from the tri-state region for the release of the highly anticipated Air Jordan 11 ‘Cool Gray’ and let them put their own creative twist and tell their stories about the classic Air Jordan colourway. 11. Using everything from nail art and paintings to even creating their own take on the sneaker, the designers shared their “Cool Gray†designs on social media for the world to bask in.
While one of the most sought-after prizes was a chance to be part of a meetup with New York Knicks star RJ Barrett, this event was canceled due to the growing number of COVID-19 infections across the city and America.
Still, Jimmy Jazz brought down the park with his 2021 holiday giveaway and hopefully this will become an annual event for decades to come, as many children and their families could use the Christmas pick-me-up.
