Unfortunately there will be no Narcos: Mexico Season 4. The third season of Narcos: Mexico will conclude the Netflix series. According to News week, the streaming service has renewed the series for a third season. However, Narcos: Mexico Season 3 will be the last installment. The platform did not give reasons for its decision. But, it should be noted its predecessor, Narcos, ended after three seasons. So it is a possibility that the creators chose to end Narcos: Mexico with the same number of seasons.

In an interview with Hollywood journalist, Narcos: Mexico Showrunner Carlo Bernard said the final installment would delve into the “origin story” of the modern war on drugs. “I saw this season as an origin story from the modern world we live in,” he said.

Bernard continued, “For me it was like bringing the show to this place where we now recognize, for better or for worse, made sense as a place to stop it. The show was able to lift the curtains and show you how this thing started, how it evolved. Not to say that other stories would not be convincing in the future. But for me, stopping at the moment we had delivered the world we live in today made sense, thematically and narratively.
