UK retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) has expanded its third-party brand platform by adding footwear brand Clarks and school supplies brand Smiggles to its range of children’s clothing.
The retailer launched Clarks in 27 M&S stores and Smiggle in 60 stores across the UK before the start of the school year in September.
M&S also introduced British lifestyle brand Hype to more stores, as well as youth brand Kickers and Jansport, a brand selling college backpacks and clothing, on M&S.com.
M&S brands are available in select stores across the UK, while the full range of back to school products are available on M&S.com with next day delivery or free Click & Collect service available at over 700 M&S locations.
Customers can book an appointment for Clarks Measuring and Fitting service at M&S stores across the UK via Clarks.com.
The brands also offer in-store services such as free shoe measurement and fitting.
M&S Brand Director Neil Harrison said: “We are truly proud to be the UK market leader in children’s school wear, known for our trusted quality and everyday value.
“Back to school is a busy time for families, and we want to make the shopping experience even easier for our customers by putting some of their favorite shoe and accessory brands alongside our strong school apparel offering. .
“It’s just one of the many ways we’re giving our 22 million Apparel and Home customers more reasons to buy from M&S.”
The third-party back-to-school offer is in line with M&S’s broader ‘Brands at M&S’ strategy, where it aims to provide customers with access to select brands and shopping benefits.
Last year, the company successfully tested its back-to-school platform in eight stores across the UK.
In February this year, M&S entered into an online and in-store partnership with US skincare and makeup brand Clinique.
