Nike’s Travel-Inspired Union Dunk Low Trainers To Release Next Week

Streetwear boutique Union continues to update the Nike Dunk Low with its “Passport Pack” of travel-inspired sneakers. After releasing a “Pistachio” version of the Dunk in February, Union prepared the “Argon” and “Court Purple” iterations to close out March. Just like the previous version, the two new variants feature a ripstop upper, exposed stitching and Union branding.

The “Passport Pack” pays homage to exclusive Japanese dunks that, before the boom in the resale market, were only available within the country. In the 90s and early 2000s, avid sneaker collectors and stores (including Union) had to travel all the way to Japan to bring home the rare Dunks – hence the sneaker “passport” theme. future.

World Tour – Each Dunk features a ripstop upper that can be ripped open to reveal the pigmented leather underneath. The dusty blue “Argon” pair, accented by red stitching, recalls a pair of rare sneakers found by Union owner Chris Gibbs in Japan. According to its namesake, the “Court Purple” iteration takes on a purple palette with yellow stitching, a color scheme reminiscent of the Lakers but actually derived from the classic Japanese “City Pack” Dunk. Grid lines on the semi-transparent upper nod more to the sneaker’s travel theme and add a color-changing effect to the Swoosh depending on how the light hits it.

Union’s Frontman logo appears on a small black patch towards the heel, while a yellow “UN/LA” tag hangs from the seam just above the Swoosh. An icy blue outsole finishes off the “Argon” Dunk while a more opaque purple outsole wraps the “Court Purple” pair. Both Dunks are packaged in exclusive boxes emblazoned with travel stamps and passport-worthy graphics.

Book your trip — Like the previous “Pistachio” sneaker, the next two Dunks will be released exclusively on Union website March 31. Chances are the shop will be holding a raffle before the drop, so you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled. Union Social for any detail.
