Puma is working on ‘Minecraft’ sneakers for all creepers

Minecraft may not have its next software update, but it has its next collaboration. The video game just announced a partnership with Puma that will hopefully give Steve’s character a better sneaker rotation.

Last week, the video game took Twitter to drop a teaser video which consisted of a Minecraft creeper chased by an ocelot cat. At the end of the video, the ocelot slows down enough to take the shape of the Puma logo.

Two can play this game – Minecraft continued the conversation with another trailer for the collaboration that illustrated the construction of a virtual Puma Suede sneaker. In real life, the shoe sits on a white outsole with a brown upper, green and blue accents and white laces, colors that are a nod to the building blocks of dirt, grass and rock. water of the game. Finally, the tongue tags feature a “Creeper” face that replaces the Puma cat.

Franchises like Disney, Marvel, MLB, star warsand a bunch of others have Minecraft collaborations under their belt already, but Puma’s announcement marks the first lifestyle brand to join the ranks. With Minecraft surpassing 1 trillion views on YouTube and 141 million active global players, gaming is definitely in the big leagues.

Puma itself is no stranger to partnerships in the gaming space. In August, the brand is partnering with Nintendo and animal crossing bring to life a collection of shoes and clothing. Given this crossing, Minecraft and Puma will likely create clothing with the game’s characters and designs, though it’s a breeze as to how that will manifest virtually.

The collaboration takes shape — characters in Minecraft may not have ten fingers or toes, but a new Puma wardrobe might be just what they need. The video game and Puma will likely continue to release elements of their partnership via social media, but the Puma Suede will be released on February 5 on the brand website. Game on.
