Supreme’s penchant for tackling obscure and unexpected Nike designs for its collaborations continues as we get our first look at the New York-based brand’s next project with Nike. Revealed is their own version of the Air Max TL from 1998-1999, the second in a popular line of Air Max running shoes that debuted in the late 1990s. the end of 1998, this model was mainly launched in 1999 and is commonly referred to as the ’99 model.
To date, the Air Max “Total Length” has yet to be re-released to the public after its initial release. Now, it’s obvious that Supreme will be ushering in the retro wave of the model, applying a clean and simple white/silver colourway to the silhouette while applying funky SUPREME branding to the heel via stylized text. The remaining design stays true to the original, with circular hits on the upper revealing a mesh base layer underneath.
It’s likely that at least one other Supreme x Air Max TL 99 colorway will drop alongside this White/Silver colorway. It also suggests that several general releases are on the ledger in OG colorways and modern styles.
A release date is not yet known, but a release is potentially scheduled for the current season of Supreme FW22 which is now underway.
