Detroit-based sneaker boutique Two 18 collaborates with Jordan Brand for a retelling of Air Jordan 2. Two 18 sneaker store, newly opened in February 2022 in Detroit, is the sister store of retailer Burn Rubber.
Sneaker leaker, @zsneakerheads and @sneaker63 official accounts have taken to Instagram to provide leaks and the very first images of the upcoming Two 18 x Air Jordan 2 Low sneakers.
Despite early appearances, no release date for the collaborative pair has been released. However, Sneakernews expects the date to be released soon on Nike’s official e-commerce site. SNKRS. The retail price for the upcoming shoes is said to be $200.
More Early Images Of Two 18 x Air Jordan 2’s Upcoming Collaborative Pair
Sneaker account leaker @sneaker63official took to Instagram to share the first images of the upcoming air jordan 2 collaborative sneakers on July 4, 2022. The caption read:
“World’s first look!!! Two 18 x Jordan 2 Two 18 store collab.”
Following @sneaker63official, @zsneakerheadz shared similar images on Instagram, revealing the shoes will be releasing later this year.
The upcoming collaborative sneakers feature a tonal brown color scheme. The upper is made from suede materials, which covers the entire low-top sneakers. Mainly covered in various shades of brown, the look is interrupted by hits of red and blue stripes constructed from leather materials.
Red and blue stripes are found on the medial and lateral sides, seen along the midfoot, ankle collars and down to the mudguards. Leather accents are also seen on the insoles, while dark brown suede panels accentuate the heel counters. The most prominent feature of the shoes is a unique graphic set of insoles.
Unique graphic insoles appear in a mismatched pattern. The counterpart on the left features a map of a city next to Milan, which is a potential reference to Michigan. The right counterpart of the insoles adorns a raven logo.
The inside of the tabs, lace and accompanying hang tag also feature collaborative detailing. The look is completed with a voile midsole sitting atop an icy translucent outsole.
Although label Two 18 didn’t leak any details about the first collaboration shoes, we can guess that the understated and earthy makeover is likely a nod to old Detroit.
The upcoming Two 18 collaboration sneakers were initially mistakenly attributed to one of Travis Scott’s collaborations, but upon close examination one can notice many different features. The shoe ditches the usual faux crackle midsole seen in the usual Travis Scott collabs and instead opts for a true-to-OG construction with suede.
Either way, the upcoming Air Jordan 2 lows should appeal to a whole new audience. Besides the Two 18 collaboration, Air Jordan 2 is expected to see a lot more collaborations this year.
As of now, no release from any of the labels involved has been revealed. However, we can expect to see the pair exit at Nike SNKRS for a retail price of $200 before the end of the year.
